Here is something most companies would not mention upfront
A leak does not always mean the dishwasher is broken. Sometimes it is a bad install from whoever put it in originally. A hose that was never seated right. A unit that is slightly out of level. We check for that before we replace anything, because swapping a part that was never actually the problem just means you pay twice & you are still mopping up a puddle next week.
Dishes not coming out clean is the one people assume means the whole machine’s dying. Usually it is simpler than that a spray arm with clogged holes, a filter nobody is cleaned in longer than they would like to admit, water pressure that’s not quite enough to get the job done. We pull the racks, check the arms & the filter, run a pressure test, & go from there instead of throwing parts at it and hoping.
Common Leaks and Drainage Problems
Worn door seals
Door seals are the other big one, especially past the five year mark. A cracked or worn seal lets water escape mid wash, which shows up as a mystery puddle that seems to come from nowhere in particular. It is usually one of the cheaper fixes we do, and it solves the leak completely once it is swapped out.
not draining properly
Almost always the drain hose, the pump, or something wedged in the line sometimes food, sometimes something that fell off a plate and got stuck exactly where it should not. We clear it and run a full cycle to actually watch it drain before we call it done, not just assume it is fixed because the part is new.
